Some of the most beautiful fish in the world do not only come from tropical seas. They also come from the myriad of tropical freshwater rivers, lakes and streams world wide. One such lake is Lake Tanganyika, located in the heart of the Rift Valley in East Africa, it is the largest of the 8 lakes in that region, covering some 13,000 sq miles and 4800ft deep. The fishes of Lake Tanganyika are not only colorful,  rivaling some saltwater fish, but are very unique in their social structure, breeding behavior and feeding requirements.
